Three Texas Tech Undergrads Create AI-Powered Fitness and Nutrition App

Three finance students at Texas Tech University—Grayson Archer, William Trapp, and Grant Moos—have launched an all-in-one fitness application called Glide Performance, currently available on the Apple App Store with an Android version in development.

The project originated from Archer’s personal search for a single platform capable of managing multiple aspects of physical fitness. After an initial web-based prototype created by Trapp stalled, the team resumed work in early 2026 alongside Moos to turn the concept into a fully realized application. Following its launch on September 11, the app accumulated over 400 downloads in its first few weeks.

Designed to serve as a comprehensive wellness hub, Glide Performance unifies workout logging, meal tracking, social networking, and Apple Health integration into a single interface. A central feature of the platform is an artificial intelligence assistant that builds customized exercise routines and personalized meal suggestions based on user parameters, such as specific ingredients on hand or remaining daily calorie targets.

The service operates on a three-tiered membership structure. The Free Tier includes access to the AI assistant, social networking features, basic photo and text food logging, and 30 monthly AI credits. The Pro Tier, priced at $5.99 per month, extends functionality to include 150 AI credits, saved conversation logs, macro and recipe calculations, and enhanced workout parsing. The Elite Tier, available for $12.99 per month, provides 400 monthly AI credits, full micronutrient analysis, weekly AI performance reviews, muscle engagement mapping, and image attachment capabilities within the AI assistant.

Beyond tracking, the app emphasizes community engagement through a shared feed and interest-based clubs aimed at lifters, runners, and culinary enthusiasts alike. Future development plans for Glide Performance include a dedicated portal for professional trainers to manage client rosters and connect with prospective users.
