The Lubbock County Clerk’s Office has introduced a free alert system to help local property owners guard against deed fraud and illegal property transfers.

Through the new Fraud Notify service, developed in partnership with Tyler Technologies, residents receive automated notifications whenever official paperwork, such as deeds, liens, or land records, is registered under their name. The initiative targets property fraud, a scheme where bad actors file fake documentation against real estate to fraudulently claim ownership or secure unauthorized financial loans.

Once signed up, property owners who receive an alert can inspect the filed documents directly at the County Clerk’s Office on Broadway Street or request copies for verification.
