Del Rio Man Arrested After Allegedly Making False 911 Threat

A 24-year-old Del Rio man faces misdemeanor charges after allegedly making a fake emergency call about himself that prompted an armed police response on Spring Street over the weekend.

On Sunday evening, October 4, Del Rio Police officers responded to a concerning 911 call from the 700 block of Spring Street. According to investigators, an intoxicated caller claimed to possess multiple weapons and threatened to harm others.

Responding officers set up a perimeter outside the home and ordered a man exiting a nearby vehicle to step out with his hands raised. Police briefly detained the suspect, identified as Noah Fidencio Flores, and cleared the residence. Officers found an adult female and children inside unharmed, with no weapons located on the property.

Although Flores denied making the call, officers verified through police dispatch records and phone data that the emergency call originated directly from his device. Officers also noted several alcoholic beverages near his vehicle.

Flores was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threat – Reaction of Emergency Agency, a Class A misdemeanor under Texas Penal Code § 22.07(a)(1).

If convicted, the charge carries a potential penalty of up to one year in county jail and a fine of up to $4,000. Additionally, courts can order individuals convicted of initiating false emergency calls to pay financial restitution to cover the cost of law enforcement time and county resources spent responding to the scene.
