Beeville Police Hiring Entry-Level Officers; Testing Set for Oct. 23

Beeville police are recruiting new officers, and anyone who wants a shot at a badge has a little more than a week to get in line, per the Beeville Police Department.

Candidates will sit for a written exam at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, followed by a physical ability test at 2 p.m. Both take place at the Beeville Police Training Center, 608 W. Milam St. The city’s Police Civil Service Commission is running the process.

To qualify, applicants need a high school diploma, a clean driving record over the past five years and a record free of criminal history. The department says it also wants people who are committed to serving Beeville.

Applicants should start on paperwork early. The background packet is long, and the department is urging people to begin pulling together the required documents now instead of waiting until test day.

The application and background packet can be downloaded from the City of Beeville’s website, listed under the Police Officer and Telecommunicator Application and Packet. Finished packets go to the Beeville Police Civil Service Commission, attention Dena Hernandez, Human Resources, at 400 N. Washington St., Beeville, TX 78102.

Questions can go to Hernandez, the city’s human resources and civil service director, at 361-358-4641, ext. 201. Callers should give their name and number, and she’ll call back with details.
