Vice President JD Vance will not be at the Port of Brownsville to make remarks this Tuesday announced congressional candidate Eric Flores on Facebook.
Both Flores and Brownsville Mayor John Cowen had indicated that Vance would be delivering remarks at the Port of Brownsville, which is the site of a new $300 billion refinery announced by Trump back in March.
While the cancellation was rather abrupt, it’s been reported that Vance is being replaced by U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright. Secretary Wright will be speaking with local leaders, energy industry partners and members of the media.
What’s the takeaway? JD is busy which makes sense given we have a war going on but that’s about all we have.
At the time of this writing, the location for this meeting had not been announced.
